Rentals & Partnerships
The Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema is a beautiful, 11,400 square foot facility conveniently located in The Pizitz Building, in the heart of downtown Birmingham’s historic theatre district. The venue offers two state-of-the-art theaters (one is fully equipped to host hybrid meetings and live stream events), one multi-function room, two attractive lounges, and a large bar area.
Options & Partnerships
Sidewalk offers three ways for groups or individuals to have screenings or events in our theaters, lab and/or lobby – • Community Partnerships : partnership screenings with fellow nonprofits that speak to both of our missions • Screen Share : reduced rate rentals for non-profit groups • Rentals Check the handy chart below to determine which event type is right for you and your group.
Community Partnerships: Request for Proposals
Please read our guidelines before you submit a proposal. Please note that Community Partnership events may not be used as fundraisers or serve as pre- or post-events for any fundraising functions occurring the same day. If your organization is interested in partnering on a film event, please submit your proposal here . Applications are reviewed quarterly by our Community Engagement Committee. Screen Share
Screen Share is Sidewalk’s discounted rental program for non-profit organizations looking to use our theaters and other spaces for events that do not qualify for the Community Partnerships program. Screen Share events can be booked Monday- Wednesday only. Please note that there is limited availability for Screen Share, and our capacity for occupancy is subject to change in compliance with public health directives and concerns.
Host Your Next Event at the Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema
Sidewalk is now offering rentals of our space for various events such as parties, meetings, private film screenings… and whatever else you can think of!
- Birthday party to watch your fav movie with all your friends? Of course.
- Hybrid corporate meetings? Sure thing!
- Private Karaoke party? We can do it.
- Teaching a class and need a classroom space? We have one of those, too.
- Video game night? You bring the console, we've got the screen.
- Film series hosted by your organization? Let's plan it!
- Heck, you can even just rent the bar for your own private happy hour if you want.
We have a full bar and concession stand that can be available during any event upon request. Don't want what we have to offer? You can also request catering for an additional fee. Choose one of our preferred caterers from our Preferred Catering List for a discounted fee.
