The Sidewalk Film Center is located in the heart of downtown Birmingham’s historic theatre district in the newly restored Pizitz Building, located at 1821 2nd Ave. N. Birmingham, AL 35203. We are easily accessible from I-65, I-20/59, Hwy 31 and Hwy 280.

The Parking Garage at The Pizitz Building: The Pizitz parking deck entrance is located on the corner of 1st Avenue North and 18th Street North, behind The Pizitz Food Hall.

What to know about parking at The Pizitz Parking Deck: Once you park, scan the QR code on the “Pay by Phone” signs posted around the parking deck.

Sign up by adding your phone number, license plate, and payment method. Ensure your license plate number is correct to avoid any issues or parking enforcement.

When you’re ready to leave, drive out, and your account will be charged for the total amount due. An automated receipt will be sent when you exit.

Cash and/or check payment is not accepted.

Parking Rates: Up to 1 hours: $3.00 • Up to 2 hours: $4.00 • Up to 3 hours: $5.00 • Up to 4 hours: $6.00 • Up to 5 hours: $7.00• Up to 6 hours: $8.00 • Up to 7 hours: $9.00• Up to 8 hours: $10.00• Up to 9 hours: $11.00 • Up to 10 hours: $12.00 • Up to 11 hours: $13.00 • Max charge for 1 day (24 hours): $14.00.

Failure to sign up and pay for your parking visit may result in enforcement.

Metered street parking is available throughout most of downtown Birmingham. Paying the meter is only required between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday-Friday, making street parking free in the evenings and on weekends. Please note, most City of Birmingham meters accept nickels, dimes and quarters only.

McWane Science Center Parking Garage: If street parking and/or the Pizitz parking garage are not available to you, we recommend the parking deck at The McWane Science Center. McWane’s parking deck offers safe and convenient parking on 2nd Avenue North between 18th and 19th Streets from 6:30am to 6:30pm. The cost to exit the parking deck is $5. The exit gate accepts $1, $5, $10, $20 bills as well as debit and credit cards. You can also purchase a token at the ticketing counter inside the center.

The Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema offers a full bar and carefully curated concession stand with all your favorite movie theater treats plus a few fun surprises. Our bar and concession stand opens at least thirty minutes before our first screening of the day, but tickets are not required to enter our space so if you get a hankering for fresh popcorn, come on down!

We strive to offer something for everyone, including vegetarian and vegan options. If you have a suggestion for a product or menu item, please let us know.
